TeaBOT promises a fast and personalised way to buy a hot cup of loose leaf tea. After watching customers walk away from long lines at co-founder Brian Lee’s family tea store, the idea was born.
The company’s research revealed that while many tea drinkers love the idea of making their own blends, they find the idea too tedious, expensive, or risky to do at home. Enter teaBOT – a robotic kiosk that allows you to order a custom cup of loose-leaf tea and share your personalised blends with the touch of a button. For $2.99, customers can combine up to three ingredients to create one of the more than 10,000 flavour possibilities in under a minute. Customers control features on the touch screen or their smartphone and walk away with a personalised cup of tea in under a minute. Whether experimenting with new flavors, reordering a favorite, or trying a friend’s blend, teaBOT simplifies tea blending and speeds up the tea serving process. After trying out different blends, customers can pick their favourites and order a pouch for home.
TeaBOT can currently be found in Toronto on the York University andUniversity of Toronto campuses. Additional GTA locations are set to launch in the coming months. The company also plans to release a beta app in the Google Play store, which will make customising and ordering tea even faster.
